Zelle6 year old grade gelding 15 hh
Easy to catch, saddle, shoe, and load. Will stand tied for hours. Trailers well, and doesn’t pick fights. Easy keeper, and easy to keep with other horses. Rock solid and dead broke out in big country moving cows. He’ll cross water and thick deadfall. He’ll head into thick brush with no questions asked. Handles steep side hills, and going up/downhill is no problem for him. He’s a phenomenal mountain horse and he’ll go all day. Took him on a 20 mile circle the other day no problem. And he’ll walk back to the trailer quiet. Not barn sour or buddy sour.
Only selling because he hates roping. He gets worked up in those high pressure situations, and he doesn’t like roping in the branding pen. He’ll handle and alley and sort like a pro, but the roping gets to him pretty bad. He doesn’t buck or bolt or anything major. He just gets real tight and flinchy, and won’t want to track in to heel, or he’ll flinch real hard and jump forward when you throw a head loop past his ears. The more I make him rope, the more he hates it, so I figure I’ll let him go somewhere that that’s not needed of him.
He lopes a beautiful circle. The more loose rein you give him, the lower his head goes. He’ll stop off your seat, and turn a real nice correct circle. He’s a fun horse to ride. I’d recommend him for an intermediate rider.
