1966 Tavel Trailer (Fireball) for sale $1299 or Best Offer.
Note: I know this is long listing, but doing so an effort to answer questions you may have upfront.
We have had this trailer in the summer of 2009
It had been in my wife's family prior to that, sometime back into the 70's
I made the following improvements over the years:
*I removed and replaced original toilet with a more modern RV toilet.
*I replaced the OSB floor when I replaced the toilet, and put a piece if linoleum on the OSB. Also painted bathroom white.
*Replaced copper plumbing with PEX.
*Prior to us getting the trailer, my in laws replaced the upholstery fabric for the cushions and it has held up really well.
*I attempted to fix the lights but I could never figure it out, so I bought some tow lights that are magnetized and sit on the bumper. They function well.
*Some of the original windows in the front and on the side were cracked pretty bad, so I replaced them with plexiglass.
*replaced the trailer jack
Drove it up to Jackson Hole August of 2023.
Prior to that Jackson trip, I hired a local trailer company to do the following:
*New tires
*Had the trailer springs lifted from underneath the axle, to the top of the axle to give additional clearance.
*They welded on some new safety chains.
*While on that trip to Jackson, we had some leaks in roof so I caulked the joints and put roof sealant tape over the joints
The trailer also comes with:
*3 trailer jacks, and an
*Equalizer hitch.
To be clear, though these improvements were made, I want to be fair and point out some negatives.
This is a 60-year-old trailer. It still runs down the road, has a functioning bathroom, and cushions to sleep on, BUT certainly , there's work to be done on it.
Some the interior panels is solid, but several panels are damaged.
Also, the replaced vinyl floors tiles adhesive is failing and the tiles are slipping.
So, if you think this would work for your little family of your own, or could help you on your deer hunt, email or call me to arrange a time to see the trailer.
Thanks for looking, Dave.
