We are looking for a new, loving home for our 7-year-old tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Toulouse (Nicknames: Toodles, Toots). This has been a difficult decision, but we want to ensure he is with a family that can provide the space and attention he deserves for the rest of his life. Please know that I've cried for weeks over this decision and do not take it lightly. We just want him to be happy.
We don't want to charge for this adoption, so the listed $100 is just because KSL wouldn't let me leave it blank. We will provide you with his kennel, food bowls, food container, and remaining bag of food, leash, collar, brush, and nail clippers. We will want to verify your home will work for him and meet your family either in person or via FaceTime to make sure it's a good fit.
About Toulouse:
- Toulouse is a sweet, snuggly little buddy who loves to play and be near his people. If he could lie on your leg all day, he would. Loves to play but is out of shape due to living in apartments and townhomes without a yard. Walking him with small children has been difficult for me.
- He is up to date on vaccinations and weighs approximately 30 lbs.
- Neutered in Dec 2020
- Please note that he has been deaf for at least three years and experienced one seizure earlier this year. We can provide a full medical history upon request.
Ideal Home Environment:
- I think he'd do well as an emotional support animal, especially for an older child or adult with special needs.
- Must have people or another cavalier around during the day. He does not do well alone.
- A fenced yard is a must, as he needs space to run freely.
- Family Life: He is good with children; however, he tends to run and bark at unfamiliar kids. A home without a high volume of visiting children would be best.
- He would likely enjoy the company of other Cavaliers, though we are unsure how he interacts with other breeds. Would probably not do well with any other kinds of pets like birds or cats.
- His new owners should be patient and willing to accommodate his deafness.
Behavior and Quirks:
Toulouse is the world's best buddy, but he does have a few quirks: he jumps in the bathtub when thirsty, will eat food left on tables, and barks at fast movement on the TV or through windows. While he has no history of biting, he does bark and run at other dogs and unfamiliar visitors.
Please text me (Leann) if you think you'd be a good fit. 801-669-2579
