I used to own a spa store in Oregon for over 15 years, and have been in the spa business for over 23 years. I now move or deliver spas/hot tubs for customers, but primarily buy, refurbish, and sell them. Every spa I sell has been thoroughly inspected, refurbished, and wet tested. They work perfectly and include a 30-day warranty.
There are only 3 main things that ALL spas must have, whether they're a 2008, or a 2026. They require a heater/control pack, a minimum of 1 pump, and plumbing. The heater/control packs and pumps on all of my spas are inspected and tested thoroughly. I wet-test all of them for a few days or more to be certain that they aren't leaking or have any issues that may have been missed.
Why buy a refurbished spa? Newer spas have mainly more "bling" features, such as fancy lighting, bluetooth sound systems, etc. The biggest difference is their price. For a spa that is similar in size and features, they average anywhere from $10000 to $18000 or MORE. That's absolutely ridiculous! I would never spend that kind of money on a spa that provides the same amount of therapy and enjoyment. Sorry for the essay!
