PayPalFor your enjoyment, this is a large, heavy-duty, steel A-frame swing set with two classic belt swings, a saucer net swing, a sort of trapeze situation, fire pole, and ladder. It is super durable and probably cost a jillion dollars when it was purchased from, we think, Rocky Mountain Playgrounds in Salt Lake.
As a bonus, there is a matching tower (which we call the rampeumpton) with slide, steering wheel, and a dummy telescope. They are whimsical touches, but don’t do anything other than move around. The tower also has a sun canopy. The decking of the tower is in good shape, but two of the 2x8 supports underneath need replacement. The tower also has one bent bolt, but as as far as we’ve ever been able to tell, everything else is in great shape.
For preservation purposes, the swings, slide, and other detachable fixtures (telescope, wheel, canopy etc.) have all been stored inside full time since we moved into this house. We don’t have kids, and since we both got vasectomies, it’s looking less and less likely. This equipment is too fun to waste, but we are freeing up the space to expand our garden.
The playsets are both disassembled and ready for transport away, so you don’t have to worry about taking them down here, just putting them up at your place. The larger concrete footings were too bulky to be moved, so they’ve been broken up, but the smaller ones (e.g., the tower legs apart from the ladder side) are intact so you can reuse them. For your reference, the longest single piece of the whole set is the top rail of the swing set A frame, which is 16’ 3” in length.
Again, to be clear, the swing set should be ready to be put up, and the tower needs one new bolt and two new 2x8 supports (I’d probably just replace them all while I’m at it if it were me, but I’m not your dad, I can’t tell you what to do).
