I’m the original owner of this 2000 Jamis Dakota and we have owned it since new. It has been stored indoors its entire life and has seen very little use over the past several years. I’m thinning out the collection and would rather see someone enjoy it than have it continue sitting in the garage.

The Dakota was one of Jamis’ premium steel hardtails, built around a Reynolds 631 air-hardened steel frame that is still known for its smooth ride quality and durability.

The bike is in excellent cosmetic condition for its age. The paint and decals have held up extremely well, and the frame has been well cared for throughout its life.

It has not been ridden much in recent years, so I would recommend a standard tune-up before putting it back into regular trail use.

This isn’t a heavily modified project bike or a garage find with an unknown history. I’ve owned it since new, and it’s remained a clean, well-preserved example of one of Jamis’ premium steel hardtails from the golden era of cross-country mountain biking.
