This is a DIamond Back Expert TG made with top quality Tange OS tubing. These bikes are a continuation of the wonderful Centurion Road Bikes. They company just changed the brand name as they expanded markets. This is not the cheap Diamondback brand sold in stores like Walmart.
The seat tube measured at 55 cm CTC and the top tube a tad longer at 56 cm CTC.
Beautiful looking and working Shimano silver components.
The bike was tore down to a bare frame as I restored it. I spent over 12 hours Saturday alone on it with more work done on other days.
All parts degreased, deep cleaned, relubed, polished, etc. Jockey wheels disassembled cleaned, lubed and service. New bearing in the bottom bracket and the headset. New cables all around, and a new chain. The saddle that came with it was damaged so I replaced it with a NOS Brooks Gel Lite saddle that feels wonderful to ride on. NOS tires complete the package. The wheel hubs were also disassembled, degreased and cleaned, and then repacked with new bearings and lube. I use marine grease for all bearings in case the new owner rides the bike in wet conditions.
The paint is about the only thing not perfect on this bike but it's still good for a 30+ year old road bike that was ridden. I cleaned the bare frame well then used paint compound followed by paint polish to restore the shine. A final coat of carnuba wax was applied to protect the paint.
New, comfortable cork handlebar tape was the final step to complete the rebuild.
I took the bike out today for a test ride to make sure everything was good. It feels like a new bike, smooth as only steel can be yet still fast. The drivetrain runs silently and gear shifts are quick and accurate. Brakes are also working fine and are plenty strong. The new owner will not be disappointed.
This was another project bike I picked up to redo while watching the World Cup soccer games. Very happy with how nice it turned out and how great it rides on the road. Priced to just get the money back out of it that I put into it.
Cash on local pickup.
If I don't respond quickly it just means I'm on a ride or otherwise working. I'll respond as quickly as I can.
I'm including the pedals this one came with. I do have other saddles for the buyer to chose from if they don't like the saddle on it.
