It is with heavy hearts that we are looking for a new home for our two beloved cats. This has not been an easy decision. Due to allergies, limited space, the growth of our family, and not being able to give them the time and attention they deserve, we feel it is in their best interest to find a loving family who can. These two must stay together. They have been companions for years, and Mufasa especially depends on JanJan for comfort and companionship. JanJan • Female tortoiseshell • Born October 1, 2019 (Brigham City, Utah) JanJan is affectionate, confident, and loves being around people. She enjoys cuddles, cozy blankets, warm sunny spots, treats, chasing a laser pointer, and meeting new people. She has a sweet personality and isn't shy about asking for attention. She's also the boss between the two and isn't afraid to let Mufasa know when she'd like his spot on the blanket! Mufasa ("Mumu") • Male tuxedo • Born September 2018 Mufasa, who also lovingly goes by Mumu, is gentle, mellow, and a little shy when meeting new people. Once he feels safe, he'll happily keep you company, "talk" with you, and relax nearby. He isn't much of a lap cat or one who enjoys being held, but he loves simply being close to his people. He also enjoys treats, food, warm places to nap, and chasing a laser pointer. Mumu is incredibly patient and is great at taking turns with JanJan. Even when she decides she'd rather have the best spot. Their relationship is sweet to watch, and he absolutely needs to stay with JanJan, as she gives him confidence and companionship. About Them • Bonded pair—must be adopted together. • Indoor-only cats. • Both are microchipped (new owner will need to transfer the microchip information). • Vaccinations are up to date. • They have received veterinary care through West Jordan Veterinary Hospital. • They have lived peacefully with a cat-friendly dog. • They have also done well around our baby. If she becomes too curious and tries to pull their fur, they simply meow and walk away. They have never harmed anyone. • They are very peaceful cats. Both JanJan and Mumu have a special love for cardboard boxes. No matter how many cozy beds they have, somehow the box always wins! Mumu gets fit on the treadmill, or maybe we should say Mumu sits on the treadmill. They enjoy chicken and tuna as occasional treats. Mumu tends to overeat if given too much at once, so smaller portions work best for him. He also seems to have a sensitive back at times, but it has never required veterinary treatment. Because they are strictly indoor cats, they should not be allowed to roam outside. If one escapes, the other will often try to follow in search of their companion. They've enjoyed supervised time on our enclosed third-floor porch, but they are adventurous enough that we would not trust them outside unsupervised. Our greatest hope is to find someone who will love them as much as we do. They have brought so much joy to our family over the years, and we are committed to finding them a safe, patient, and loving forever home where they can stay together. Because we love them deeply and take their care and future seriously, they are not free. We want to ensure they go to a committed, loving home that will cherish them as members of the family.
