Josie is a 3yr old TWH/Rocky cross currently 15.1hh expected to be 15.3-16hh she’s technically a silver black though her silver expresses mild. Shes been handled and worked with since she was little. Through NH based horsemanship so she has a phenomenal foundation. She’s very laid back and easy going, been desentized to lots. Started last year and ridden easy since then, I am pregnant so she hasn’t been ridden as much this year, but I wouldn’t mind getting on her at all to show her riding abilities, she’s never offered to buck or bolt etc.(again pretty easy going though definitely finding her go now after getting more confident undersaddle) I have not ridden her in a bit we just have been in a rope halter as she learned to move off my leg and seat etc. I’ve never trained a gaited horse so we haven’t worked on gait, though I learned a bit about them when I got her and raised her the past 3yrs, but for me a safe sound, soft and dependable was the goal in my colt starting and that she is. Ready for anyone to actually start gaiting and fine tuning things.
She’s been up to date with 4-6week trims has beautiful feet. Ties(though impatient at her age, never pulled back though) Dentals starting at 2 to make sure she’s loosing her teeth like she should. Fecal tests done yearly for deworming. Trailered in a slant multiple times loads well.
Her only downfall is she does get sweet itch in the summer months, we’ve tried a few different things but it just kinda stays consistent once she gets itchy from May-October when the bugs come out. I simply keep her fly sprayed and trim her mane. Though I do know there’s lots of other ways to help them like fly blanket or supplements etc.
She’s turned into a big beautiful horse. But I’m just looking for something different. I like my short Paso Fino’s and she’s exact opposite, but in the best ways. I would prefer and natural horsemanship based home for her so that is my ideal. Since she already is very familiar with that approach and style of training. If you don’t use that approach I’m sorry but I’m not interested in handing her off to someone not interested or understand the way she’s been trained(though yes it’s good training and she’d do well with anyone, after a few months things change specially at young ages with the wrong people)
Located in Soda springs ID $3500
Or I would consider trade for registered or grade Paso Fino but that’s my only interest if were to do a trade.
