Venmo1948 Lincoln Continental
This gorgeous Burgundy 1948 Lincoln Continental came pretty loaded from the factory and has aged extremely well for a car that's over 78 years and is still ready to drive! Powered by what is believed to be its original 292 CID V12 and 3-speed manual transmission, it still floats down the road like the executive's car that it was designed to be - powerful, smooth, and stately. Speaking of chrome, it's adorned with plenty of the gleaming stuff...it's sure to bring back fond memories for anyone who was around when this car was still fairly new. The burgundy paint is in good condition, and glistens in the sun. The dish hubcaps gleam, and the side skirts and Continental Kit add extra panache to this glorious ride.
Inside, this big Lincoln also has some very cool door releases: both the exterior and interior units are push-button operated. The big clock in the dash looks awesome, and it can certainly be refurbished to operate like it did when it was new. You'll be sure to appreciate the nostalgic feeling that sitting in the pilot's seat will provide. So, what are you waiting for - get in, start it up and slip it into gear. You'll relish the commanding view down the long hood, with the wide, graceful front fenders low in the sight lines. You'll also appreciate the smooth ride that the Coker wide whitewall radial tires provide. Big, bold, and beautiful, this '48 Lincoln will be sure to get the thumbs-up from everyone around you on the road; so be sure not to wait to make your move on it!
The 1948 Continental was one of the first postwar models designed by famed industrial stylist Raymond Loewy. 1948 would become the last year for the Continental, as the division sought to redevelop its new 1949 model line as an upgraded version of the Mercury; the expensive personal-luxury car no longer had a role at Lincoln.
The 1939–1948 Continental is recognized as a "Full Classic" by the Classic Car Club of America, one of the last-built cars to be so recognized. As of 2015, the 1948 Lincoln Continental and 1948 Lincoln were the last cars produced and sold by a major U.S. automaker with a V12 engine.
Asking $25000 OBO
