We are looking for a Guardian Home for our boy, August! He is a purebred golden retriever who is 8.5 weeks old. He has been Embark tested and carries the gene for TT low-shedding, which is the lowest form of shedding for any dog before it becomes non-shedding. He is also going to be pretty small - we think he'll be about 35-45 lbs full grown. He's a deep red and both parents come from long lines of hunters and champions. He's ready to go home at any time.
What is a Guardian Home?
A guardian home is when the puppy is owned by you and we just bring him with us every now and again for breeding appointments like health testing (this usually takes a few hours each time before we would bring him back home to you). We cover all breeding-related costs for him, so you don't have to worry about that. He would be our breeding dog but your pet for up to seven years (though we could retire him earlier than that) and then he would be completely yours for the rest of his life!
Some things we ask in order for you to qualify:
- Live within two hours of Ogden, UT
- Own your own house/property
- Have a fenced yard
- Will feed him only PawTree and the amount of food we agree to - overfeeding dogs can cause major health issues for golden retrievers related to hip and elbow problems, so this is especially important to us.
