Pickles is a 6-year-old Percheron/Quarter Horse cross mare. I’m listing her for sale on behalf of a client. They’ve decided they’re just not quite the right fit for Pickles.

Pickles is a very broke, versatile mare with a solid foundation. In the arena she has a nice walk, trot, and lope, a great stop, and smooth spins. While she rides fantastic in the arena, the majority of my time with her has been spent outside, putting loads of miles on her. She rides out confidently by herself or with other horses, is sure footed in steep rough terrain, crosses water, bridges, and logs like a champ, stays level headed, and rarely gets bothered by new situations I’ve thrown her way.

I’ve roped off her at brandings and three-man doctorings, and she handles both the head and heel side great. I’ve loaded my dog up on her, used her at the sale barn, loaded trucks with her, sort pairs, trial cattle, she’s great with road traffic, great with livestock flags, rattle paddles and all the other chaos you run into day working.

She leads, loads, and ties. She’s great for the farrier, vet, and baths. Will pick you up off of a fence, water tanks, trucks and trailers. She does have some old wire cut scares, they don’t bother her at all except cosmetically. She’s willing, sensible, and has been one I’ve been able to use for just about anything I’ve asked of her.
