Engine & Performance
The 2020 model shifted focus toward mid-to-top-end power, screaming all the way to a 14,300 RPM limit. Kawasaki made the cylinder bore wider and the stroke shorter, and implemented finger-follower valve actuation—a design derived from the 450. It also features a larger 44mm throttle body, dual fuel injectors, and three track-ready, plug-and-play ECU maps (Standard, Hard, and Soft).
Suspension & Handling
For the 2020 model year, Kawasaki ditched the Showa Separate Function Fork (SFF) and upgraded to a highly praised KYB 48mm coil-spring front fork and KYB rear shock. The bike is considered one of the narrowest in its class, making it extremely easy to flick around in corners, and features adjustable handlebars and footpeg positions to fit various rider sizes.
