Major upgrades and equipment:
The rear full-size bed converts into a large table with seating for up to six. The side dinette converts into an additional bed, making two separate sleeping and dining areas.
The kitchen includes a two-burner propane stove, a very dependable refrigerator, generous storage, a sink that is disconnected from the gray water system making the Casita usable year-round.
The original Casita wet-bath layout includes a toilet, shower and small sink, with an upgraded heating and drainage configuration. The shower drains directly to the ground below, while the toilet is still connected to the black tank system (although it hasn’t been used since we’ve owned it or the previous owners)
When we’re intentional with resources, we’ve comfortably operated off-grid for extended stretches rather than just a weekend. With the battery charging during driving, the only time we’ve run out of battery was running the heater over night (and it was able to reset well).
The Casita tows beautifully and has handled long highway trips, dirt roads, and remote campsites with just a reset of some cushions and cabinets on arrival. The lifted suspension and rugged tires give this rig more clearance and capability than a standard Casita, and the rhino lining has helped protect the exterior from rocks/debris that gets kicked up.
It is a well-maintained 2002 trailer, which means it has some charming quirks, loose screws and cosmetic wear. There is minor surface rust but no significant rust that we’re aware of.
This casita has served us well and we’re sorry to see it go, but these things don’t move over seas well… We’re happy to walk a serious buyer through every system and explain quirks and notes that we’re aware of.
Serious inquiries are welcome, we will be happy to provide video and more details We can provide additional photographs, a complete video walkthrough, and detailed system specifications upon request.
