VenmoAntique drop-front secretary desk made by the Skandia Furniture Company of Rockford, Illinois, dating to approximately the 1920s.
The case sits on a stand base with barely twist legs joined by a box stretcher, and the fall-front door is decorated with cast Gothic-style strap hardware. The desk opens to reveal two doored compartments and two small drawers flanking a small brass gooseneck reading lamp; the lamp has been rewired for safety and works great.
The lower case features a deep drawer with a carved sunburst and clover medallion motif.
This piece would suit a study, office, entryway, or bedroom where a compact writing surface with storage is needed, and pairs well with other Jacobean or Gothic Revival case pieces, dark academia interiors, or as a standout anchor in a curated traditional area.
Good antique condition with minor signs of wear and age-appropriate patina. A couple of the interior wooden knobs are chipped. Key is included. See pictures for details.
