Meet Freya, an incredible dog in need of an incredible home. Freya has been with our family since we rescued her off the streets in 2022 after she had been abandoned. She has been a loving and loyal dog, a mixed breed who is primarily composed of Norwegian Elkhound and German Shepherd. She is about 4 years old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.
When we rescued Freya, it became clear that she is frightened of other dogs, especially around any valuable resources such as food. She is especially reactive around unknown dogs. After some significant life changes, it is clear to us that she needs a home were she can alone be the queen of the castle, where she can love her people as the only dog. She ADORES humans. She loves children, but would do best with older kids who understand her personal boundaries.
Athletic and hard-working, Freya would excel with a person or a family where she can have a daily job, even if it's just guarding the garden from bird invaders. Exercise and stimulation is a must. She is truly the finest traveler and if there was perfect van life dog, it would be her. She becomes quite sad if left alone for long periods of time, and would benefit from a family where she has someone home with her quite often.
She is not a beginner dog, but words don't do Freya justice. As heartrending as this is for me, she truly deserves a home where she is not afraid and can be the only beloved companion. Finding a home for a dog who must remain the sole dog is like finding a unicorn and I need help to do so.
Please feel free to reach out to me for further details. If you cannot personally provide the perfect home, please consider anyone you might know who would be a good fit. I truly want only the best home possible for her and will waive the rehoming fee for the correct applicant. We would love to remain in contact, to receive updates and to cheer her on forever.
