Meticulously maintained 2002 Honda Rancher 350 ES with 4,555 miles. This is the electric-shift 2WD model with Honda's bulletproof 329cc air-cooled engine. If you've been looking for an older Rancher that was actually taken care of instead of run hard, this is the one. How it's been cared for:

• Always stored in a shed — never left out in the weather
• Carburetor is run dry after every outing and especially before storing it for winter
• I use ethanol-free gas in it
• Battery kept on a battery tender whenever it's parked, so it's always ready to start
• Electric shifter has never given a single problem (a real plus on these ES models)

How it runs:

• Strong hill climber — honestly pulls some hills better than my 4x4 does (in 2WD)
• Suspension is in good shape and rides noticeably smoother than my 4x4
• Reliable, ready to work or trail ride
• Backup recoil (manual pull) start — if the battery ever dies in the field, you can still start it and get home
