VenmoOriginal World War I U.S. M1917 “Doughboy” steel helmet.
The helmet has the original-style liner, leather chinstrap, and chinstrap mounting hardware. The inside rim is stamped ZC 58. The exterior was repainted silver at some point, so the original military finish is no longer present.
Condition is consistent with age. The liner and leather are dry and worn, with some cracking and deterioration, but the helmet is substantially complete. The steel shell is solid with no major dents.
This is an authentic WWI-era helmet, not a modern reproduction.
Selling as found. I have not cleaned, restored, repainted, or treated the leather.
