Selling my 2012 Yamaha FZ6R. I’ve owned this bike for 2 seasons now. It’s given me zero issues other than needing a new battery after sale. These bikes are a fantastic choice as a “beginner plus” motorcycle for risk aware adults and larger riders. These are made with a Yamaha R6 sport bike engine tuned for street riding. Basically a relaxed R6. These make about 75hp and offer the 4cyl sound many riders search for in this power range. Most bikes in this class are now twin cyl.
The ergonomics of this bike are very relaxed for a fully faired sport bike. Offering mid controls and handlebars giving it more of a naked bike riding stance.
I’ve done a bit of modification to this platform. Below are details but the big mods are brake improvements, a gearing change, and a timing advance which necessitates the use of 91-93 octane fuel aka “premium”… these mods have made the bike very responsive and much quicker to redline over a stock FZ6R. My goal was to make this bike more of an “OEM plus” build. The bike is also wrapped in KMPF matte frozen emerald vinyl. It’s a DIY job and definitely not perfect. Just a big sticker though and can be removed easily to take the bike back to the stock black and red.
The only reason I’m selling is because I’ve moved on to a bike with more power. I’ll continue to ride this bike while i set the new bike up for next season.. So miles will go up. reach out if you have any questions!
