VenmoThis quickly turned into one of my favorite bikes I ever owned. This was my first Guzzi, and the last three motorcycles I've purchased have all been Moto Guzzi's. Join the cult!
Here's the lowdown of what to expect:
A fuel injected 750cc air cooled V-twin, dry clutch, 5 gears, shaft drive. The engine isn't massively powerful, but it sounds amazing and it's satisfying. The bike rumbles in a wonderful way, and shakes side to side if you twist the throttle. The Mistral exhaust sounds great with the baffles in, without being obnoxious. It likes to rev, but you ride it differently than most other bikes. Take your time shifting to keep it smooth and seamless. Shaft drive means no more chain maintenance. The gas tank holds just under 6 gallons of gas and has serious range. It has enough luggage to keep it practical, easily removed in seconds. It's simple, without rider aids. Cable throttle, no ABS, no traction control, no ride modes. Focus on the ride without distractions.
The maintenance is up to date. I just completed the 18k oil change (engine, transmission, and final drive), replaced the spark plugs, adjusted the valves. I bled the brakes earlier this season. New battery last year. The front tire is fairly new, the rear tire has lots of tread left but it is developing a flat spot in the center.
There are two mechanical issues that I'm aware of. The clutch switch acted up on me several months ago, would not start in gear but would start in neutral. I cleaned the switch and it has been working since, but a new OEM switch is about $30. There is a very slow oil leak from the rear drive unit, a drop of oil every several rides. Not an issue if you wipe the bottom of the unit down periodically, but I want to be up front about it. Cosmetically, there are some small scratches on each side where a previous owner dropped it, shown in pictures.
It is mostly stock, with some helpful upgrades. Dart flyscreen to take some wind off your chest, Cyclops LED headlight bulb, braided brake lines, Hepco & Becker luggage (waterproof), Mistral exhaust, engine guards. I'll also include a workshop manual.
If you're taller than about 5'10" you might feel like it's a little cramped.
I've never received so many compliments on a motorcycle in my life. I will be sad to see it go! Feel free to ask questions, I'll allow test rides but only if you bring the asking price in cash and have a motorcycle license endorsement. I have the clean title in my name, ready to sign over.
