VenmoRuger is an 18-year-old palomino gelding looking for his next partner. We purchased him for our daughter as her first bitted 4-H horse, and he has been exactly what she needed to build her skills.
When we bought Ruger in March from a local friend, at the time our daughter wasn’t even comfortable loping. She has grown tremendously this season and accomplished more than we imagined. She has decided to switch to the two-handed 4-H program next year, so it’s time for Ruger to go to another family.
Ruger’s Highlights:
Experienced 4-H horse at both the local and state levels for the past 6 years
Has competed in barrels poles, and gymkhana this season
Excellent side pass and backing
Has been roped off of in breakaway practice and team roping
Beautiful palomino with lots of eye appeal
No maintenance or soundness issues
Up to date on vaccinations
Fresh shoes last week
Things to Know:
He isn’t a fan of the farrier, so we’ve used shoeing sedation to make the experience easier.
He has naturally low heels, so he currently wears wedge shoes.
He excels in the arena. We tried pushing cows a couple of times, and he became a bit anxious, so we feel he is happiest in an arena or 4-H setting rather than ranch work.
Ruger has been a great stepping stone for our daughter. He’s a handsome, experienced horse with plenty left to offer the right home.
