ApplePayMidge is a 2 1/2 year old female GSD/Lab mix. Midge came into our lives after multiple college households in my friend group decided a dog was too much work when she was a puppy (We've had her since she was 14 weeks). She is current on vaccinations and is spayed. She is not chipped.
Midge is the sweetest and most lovable dog. She wants to cuddle and is eager to please. While she hasn’t had much training, especially compared to our other dog, she is highly food motivated, and grasps concepts quickly (she learned down and sit in just a few repetitions). With enough dedication, she not only will be a loving companion, but an obedient one. She is crate and house trained. She is a wonderful companion and will bring love and joy into your home for many years to come. Her personality shines through all the time. We just want her to go to a family that will love her and be able to dedicate the time and energy to her that she needs.
She can be reactive/scared with other dogs and strangers, particularly while leashed, but has done fine when boarding at facilities with up to 7 dogs at a time. After she has had a few minutes of exposure to get used to them she settles in fine. She does not have experience with small children, so I am not sure how well she responds to them.
We need to re-home her due to medical advice from my doctor. Living with dogs will increase the frequency I need to have surgery to remove inflammatory polyps. The other dog pictured, Bandit, will be re-homed with his breeder or individual familiar with working line shepherds.
A meetup will be required before she is re-homed. We can provide collars, travel crate (Gunner Kennel), some chew toys, some food, and a food bowl for her.
*The $15 just covers the required fees by KSL.
