15 HH grade gelding. We bought him as an extra horse to ride, but with two other horses currently in training, we just don’t have the time he deserves.

He was previously used to move cattle in the mountains with his previous owners.

He has more “whoa” than “go” and has a calm disposition. He can be watchful while being ridden but doesn’t buck, rear, or act up. He is not fancy broke but He neck reins, stands tied, and we’ve been told he’s good for the farrier although he has not seen a farrier in the time we have had him. He’s due for a trim now, and I can easily pick up all four feet.

If he hasn’t been ridden consistently, he can be a little nervous during saddling, but he settles down quickly, nothing crazy that can not be worked through. He’s the kind of horse that will do what’s asked of him, though he prefers to follow rather than lead and lacks confidence being the first horse out. He will lead but he is slow about it. However when he follows he keeps the speed with the other horses.

Because of his few quirks, I wouldn’t recommend him as a beginner horse. That said, the previous owner had young kids riding him bareback and he did great. Videos attached.

He is great with our other horses, not a mean bone in his body.

We’re simply looking for a good home where he’ll be ridden regularly and continue building confidence.
