The Big Royal View is a generic 1980s or early-1990s faux-SLR, sometimes called a “trashcam” or “scamera.” It is essentially a fixed-focus 35mm point-and-shoot camera housed in a large SLR-shaped plastic body. The oversized lens barrel is mostly cosmetic. The “ZOOM” marking does not indicate a true zoom lens, and the top-mounted viewfinder is not a through-the-lens viewing system. On documented examples, the front ring adjusts the aperture rather than focusing the lens. It is the most unusual and entertaining camera in the lot and is offered as a collectible curiosity. SELLER DEBATED TRASHING IT<BUT YOU GET IT AS PART OF THIS LOT TO PASS ON THE LEGACY OF THE TRASHCAM!
CONDITION AND TESTING
None of the cameras has been powered, loaded with film, or test-fired. The following have not been tested or inspected internally: Shutters, Flashes, Film advance mechanisms, Motor drives, Battery compartments, Light meters, or exposure systems. All cameras are sold as vintage collectibles in untested condition. Please review the photographs carefully for cosmetic condition. L-029
