ZelleBeautiful, classic Bianchi Imola road bike for sale.
Humans started making two-wheeled thingies out of steel tubing in the 1860s... and have been perfecting that original concept ever since. Bianchi started making bicycles just a couple of decades after those first bi-cycles were created--in the 1880s--and has been making some of the world's best bicycles ever since. Though Bianchi--and most other major bike brands--stopped making and selling new stele framed bikes in the mid 1990's, their steel framed bikes are still very sought after by hipsters and purists all over the world--who swear by their high quality, longevity, excellent paint jobs, and superb ride qualities.
This Imola is an excellent example of late Bianchi steel framed bicycle production. The paint is still beautiful. The frame still arrow straight and buttery smooth.
The later models (like this one) had carbon fiber forks instead of steel... which are generally preferred for performance riding because ==they weigh significantly less, absorb road vibrations== much better than aluminum or stiff steel, and can be precisely shaped by engineers to maximize stiffness where you need it for sharp handling--as well as improved aerodynamics.
Factory equipped with a bulletproof but still affordable FULL Shimano 105 groupset (including the hubs!) and a more relaxed geometry plus a fairly tall head tube, this bike was intended more for general use, light touring, commuting, etc--rather than racing. So it is a great all-'rounder--with a 3x drivetrain that makes it excellent for touring and riding in the mountains in general.
The paint colors on this bike are a beautiful sky / robins egg blue up front, transitioning to a darker, metallic, purple-y blue in the back--with silver and white graphics and decals in between.
Due to their limited (and ever decreasing) availability and consistent demand, Bianchi's--particularly the older / vintage / steel models--tend to hold their values well--often appreciating. These are excellent, analogue, easy to maintain, easy to upgrade, simple, classic bikes that never go out of style or demand. (The exact same year / model / color just recently sold on eBay for $850 + $200 shipping + sales tax... (around $1130 total)). See attached.
The Shimano components are all in excellent condition with no oxidation. (The rear derailleur appears to have been replaced with a black 105 model at some point... so if it were me, I'd source an original polished / chromed 105 (or higher / Ultegra / Dura Ace) model and swap it out at some point if I were going to keep the bike and wanted it to look perfect and all match-y.) Those parts are affordable and readily available on eBay, FB Marketplace, KSL, etc.
