🐾 FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED FOR PEBBLES 🐾
Meet Pebbles, a Pyrenees/Heeler/Collie mix who will turn 3 years old on March 20th. ❤️
Pebbles is an incredibly loving, cuddly girl looking for a patient, understanding home where she can feel safe and be part of the family. Her absolute favorite word is “cuddle.” Ask, “Pebbles, cuddle?” and she’ll come right over ready to snuggle. 🥹❤️
🏡 Pebbles’ ideal home: • She needs to be the ONLY dog in the home. She is dog reactive and resource guards food and toys around other dogs. She can make dog friends outside the home after she has time to warm up to them. • A securely fenced backyard where she can play would be ideal. • She would do best with kids 6+. She was raised around children and LOVES kids, but she can be skittish and jumpy and will sometimes use her herding instincts around them. • She currently lives with a cat, but she will try to herd the cat when it moves. • She is nervous/reactive around men due to a previous negative experience, but she can warm up with patience and time. • She does not like having her tail or paws touched.
🍽️ Food: Pebbles is a grazer and needs access to her bowl throughout the day. Scheduled feeding does not work well for her—she naturally eats small amounts at a time and can make a portion last for days.
🐶 A few more things to know: • Housebroken ✅
• Very cuddly and affectionate ❤️
• Loves snow ❄️ but hates the heat ☀️
• She is NOT suited to being an outdoor/farm dog or working herding dog. She would much rather be inside relaxing and cuddling with her people. • She has three favorite toys and doesn't have much interest in other toys. • She can be bathed, but currently needs to be muzzled for nail trims and when her back end is brushed. • She has significant kennel anxiety. She has broken one kennel, can escape a wire kennel, and may dig, drool and panic while kenneled. • She also cannot currently be trusted loose in the house unsupervised because she may chew things or get into the garbage.
⚠️ Bite history: Pebbles has bitten one person following a negative interaction with that individual. The bite did not puncture the skin or draw blood. That experience is also believed to be why she is now fearful and skeptical of men. We want to be completely transparent so her future family understands her needs and can set her up for success.
Pebbles will come with her kennel, dog food, food bowl, three favorite toys, leash and collar. She is microchipped, and the chip will need to be transferred to her new family. She received her first-year vaccinations and rabies vaccination when she was spayed at around one year old; her new family should confirm with a veterinarian what vaccinations or boosters are currently due.
Pebbles isn't a perfect fit for every home, but for the right person, she is going to be one heck of a cuddle buddy. ❤️ She needs someone with time, patience, structure and lots of love who understands that beneath her fears and quirks is a very affectionate girl who wants to feel safe with her people.
