He can walk, trot, and lope he’s great on the trails and in the arena he walk out great but only he can slow up uphill when he’s on a trail ride. He would be a great for someone that can keep exercise enough I can’t keep him exercised because I am too busy.”

My sweet special needs daughter wrote what is written above and posted her horse Rio herself. :) I want to include her explanation in the ad as she went to so much work. ❤️ She is the one pictured in most of the photos. Rio is a 9 year old, registered AQHA gelding, standing 15.1 hands. He has been excellent for her as a trail horse, but isn’t a good fit for her in the arena as he has a bigger motor than she is ready for. We love him and hate to part with him, but also need a shorter horse that she can be more independent with catching, saddling, and mounting; one with more whoa than go; and one that is already ready to be in HS rodeo and 4h shows as our girl has only one year left. Rio has a lot of promise in that respect and would excel in many disciplines. He had some reining training in the past so is pretty broke- soft lope, neck reins, good stop, picks up leads, ground covering walk. He just finished 30 days roping training and is tracking the dummy well. As mentioned before, he is a dream on the trails. Please call or text with any questions.
