Beautiful Kimball 39-inch spinet. What makes this one stand out is the original Birdseye Maple veneer, which is a really unique finish I've never seen before on a piano like this. Because it's such a rare piece, we went all-in on the restoration.
We fully refinished the exterior, and inside, it got a complete refurbishing: hammer reshaping, alignment, full regulation, and all the mechanical fine-tuning needed for excellent playability. On top of that, I wasn't happy with the original dampening or bass, so we took it further and installed brand new dampers and replaced the entire set of bass strings.
This meant it ended up sounding like a much newer, larger piano... not what you'd expect from a compact spinet from the 1940s. If you're looking for something vintage but thoroughly upgraded, come play this one in person and see what you think.
My skilled piano artisans have completed the following work on this piano:
-Cabinetry refinished
-Re-shaped hammers
-New dampers
-New bass strings
-Action components cleaned, aligned, lubricated, and tightened to ensure proper function
-Full action regulation
-Final prep and tuning
