We rescued Baby from the shelter. She was found as a stray, but she had been declawed. She was friendly and enjoyed being pet when we spent time with her at the shelter, and we brought her home and we gave her some time to adjust to her new surroundings, but she didn't want to be pet or cuddle much. She started to feel more comfortable and warm up to us, but after 1 month, we got a kitten. The kitten wants to play with her, but Baby is not interested in rough kitten play. She does love playing with any type of string or yarn, but she hisses and growls and tries to avoid the kitten. She is very sweet around people, but she doesn't require much petting. She is very interested in what we're doing and likes to follow us around the house and be near us. She likes to sleep on our bed, but doesn't need to be pet by us. She is so beautiful and sweet, but needs to be the only pet in her home so she can relax and really warm up to her owners. We think she possibly experienced some trauma in her previous home that she just needs to work through. We hate to let her go, but we really want to be a 2 cat family and its just not going to work for her. We just want her to be happy!
