Cowboy — Looking for the Right Home

Cowboy is a young Dutch Shepherd mix with a great personality and an even bigger heart. He’s an incredibly loving, affectionate dog who really bonds with his people. He loves being close, loves attention, and despite being an athletic, energetic dog, he’s also genuinely cuddly and perfectly happy curling up next to you when the day is over.

He’s social and playful and really enjoys being around other dogs. He has that great combination of being ready for an adventure whenever you are, but also wanting to be part of the family and involved in whatever is going on. Hiking, exploring, running around with other dogs, going to the dog park, riding along for an outing—Cowboy is happiest when he gets to experience life alongside his person.

He’s still young, so he has plenty of energy, curiosity, and goofy enthusiasm. He has a lot of character and little quirks that make him hard not to love—including a pretty great morning howl when he has something to say. Some of his favorite places have been Neffs Canyon and Parleys, and he would thrive with someone who enjoys getting outside and wants a dog who can truly be a companion.

More than anything, Cowboy is a deeply loving dog. He isn’t being rehomed because there is something wrong with him. The goal is to find him the kind of life he deserves: a home where he gets plenty of attention, activity, affection, and companionship.

I care about him tremendously, so finding the right person matters much more to me than finding someone quickly. I’d love for him to go to someone who is excited to have a dog be a real part of their life—adventures, couch time, dog friends, morning howls and all.
