VenmoAmish built coop. This coop is framed and built like a house. The coop is large enough for 15 hens. I have 8 actively laying hens (18 month old- white leg horns). All the gear you need including 300 pounds of “All natural Eden feed”. (I drive to Evanston to buy this organic feed as my wife and I know that this feed is better for the birds and in turn better for our family).
Some of the items included in this sale are: 3 “Brute” weatherproof plastic garbage cans with lids. 300 pounds of feed. Metal heavy duty scoops, 2 feeders, 3 waterers. Wooden dusting box. Electric water heater to keep water from freezing during the winter months. Heat lamps with timer.
Also included is a predator proof fenced enclosure that you can remove and reassemble on your property. (If you choose to remove this outer enclosure you will need to "jack" the "T" posts out of the soil. It will be a bit of work but in the long run this enclosed fencing will protect your flock and save you time in not having to "re-engineer" an outside enclosure.
I have built a large chicken tractor, on wheels, to allow the hens to be on grass or in the garden and can easily be moved as needed for shade etc. Included are several galvanized cans containing straw, oyster shells and diatomaceous earth. I have one "straw bale sized" tote with wheels. I will include the light timer and all electrical cords to operate the heat lamps (I mainly used the heat lamp(s) with a light bulb to extend the "daylight" during the winter. The coop is built so well that for our "current" Utah winters the heat bulbs are not needed. The coop sits on 4 thick pavers to keep it level. These are included as well. There are other items you will get as we load you up with ALL I have used to make sure my family has had organic eggs... even through the egg shortage!
These hens are very good layers. By providing them with timed light in the coop last winter they laid 7-8 eggs per day all winter. Production has remained steady throughout the summer at 7-8 eggs per day. All birds are healthy and have just started their molt so a few are currently missing some feathers.
The hens have eaten organic feed only since being chicks.
Easy access for your truck and trailer. Bring some helpers! You will likely need four strong people to load the coop.
