Beautiful oversized library bookcase combining warm rustic wood, dark metal accents, generous shelving, four drawers, and a classic library ladder.

We purchased this piece new from DownEast approximately eight years ago for $2,800. It is an exceptionally substantial, well-made piece of furniture (not a lightweight or flat-pack shelving unit). The distressed wood, riveted metal detailing, cross-bracing, and decorative drawer pulls give it a distinctive old-world character and rustic elegance.

The bookcase offers generous open shelving for books, artwork, plants, collectibles, or home-office storage. Four lower drawers provide concealed storage, along with an additional open compartment between them. The removable metal ladder hooks onto the front rail and completes the classic old-world library-inspired design.

The bookcase is in very good used condition. Its variations, distressing, and aged appearance are intentional elements of the original design. It has been both a highly functional storage piece and a beautiful focal point in our home. We are selling only because we are downsizing and will not have room for it in our new home.
