Gracie is an 11-year-old grulla mare, she is 15 hands. Gracie is a sweet, gentle, smart, athletic mare who is not mare-ish at all. She is not buddy sour and is happy to ride out alone or with other horses. She could care less what the other horses are doing and is very independent.

She has been around lots of different horses and is not mean or aggressive toward other horses. She has also been exposed to dogs, chickens, pigs, cats, four-wheelers, tractors, and the everyday activity that comes with being around a farm.

She has a soft mouth and responds beautifully to pressure. She is incredibly smart and really tries to figure out what you are asking of her. She responds well to leg cues and knows how to side pass, yield her shoulders and hindquarters, open and close gates, neck rein, stop softly, and back.

She has a nice, smooth walk, trot, and lope and has a big motor and likes to move. In the arena, she prefers to keep moving and has plenty of go. I believe she may have previously been started as a barrel horse, and she could potentially make a nice barrel or roping prospect for someone wanting to take her in that direction.

Gracie is very versatile and has been ridden in a halter, bosal, hackamore, and bridle. We are currently working on introducing her to being ridden with just a neck rope, and she is picking it up quickly.

She is easy to handle and enjoys being loved on. She will follow you around without a lead rope, lowers her head nicely to poll pressure, and is easy to halter, bridle, and saddle. She stands quietly to saddle, has been ridden bareback, and will “pick you up” from just about anything — mounting blocks, fences, logs, trailers, etc.

She is great outside of the arena and has been ridden on trails and in the mountains. She is sure-footed, walks over logs, and handles herself well in different terrain. She hobbles great, loads in the trailer well, stands for baths, picks up her feet, and stands nicely for the farrier.

She does have a little more sensitivity and can be jumpy or skittish on the ground at times, but once you are on her she settles in and rides well. She would be best suited for a confident intermediate to experienced rider who can appreciate a horse with some go and continue building on everything she already knows.

Gracie truly is an amazing all-around mare with a lot of potential. She would make a great partner for someone looking for a versatile horse and could potentially be taken in a barrel, roping, ranch, or trail direction.
