ApplePayURGENT This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, and honestly, writing this hurts more than I can put into words. I am looking for a new home for my sweet girl, Maggie May, not because I stopped loving her or because I don’t want her anymore, but because I have reached a point where I have to put her quality of life before my own heartbreak. She has been such an important part of my life, and the thought of saying goodbye is devastating.
My current living situation has become extremely difficult for her. My partners elderly mother (who lives with us) is allergic to cats, and my partner is also allergic. I am currently 8 months pregnant. With my baby on the way, I’m also scared of the possibility that my child could develop allergies and that it could eventually make things even harder. None of these are reasons I ever wanted to have to consider rehoming her, but they are circumstances I can’t simply wish away.
On top of that, my partner has pitbulls, and unfortunately, we have never been able to get them and my cat to safely and comfortably coexist. Because of this, she has ended up spending most of her days confined to a room so that she can be safe. It absolutely breaks my heart knowing that she is spending so much of her life behind a closed door when she deserves to be able to roam around, sunbathe, play, nap wherever she wants, and simply feel like she belongs in a home.
She deserves so much more than being kept in one room because the circumstances around her make it difficult for her to have freedom. She deserves someone who can give her a peaceful home where she doesn’t have to compete with allergies or be separated from everyone for her own safety. I want her to have a home where she can curl up on the couch, follow her person around, get spoiled, and feel completely secure. I want to find someone who genuinely loves animals and understands that adopting her is a lifelong commitment.
I will never stop loving her, and I will always be grateful for the years we’ve had together. My hope is that instead of this being the end of her happiness, it can be the beginning of a life where she gets everything she deserves. I just want her to be safe, loved, spoiled, and free to be the cat she is meant to be.
She is spayed and fully vaccinated. She is nervous around new people but will warm up to you very quickly! She is my absolute best friend. Before moving in with my partner she use to sleep with me every night and cuddle under my blankets. She does get her zoomies but mostly likes to relax/is very laid back. She has never been around other cats so preferably I would like to find a home where she’s the only cat/or a family who can take the time to introduce slowly and have patience during her learning curve.
My hope is to give her a happy home before my son is born.
About her: -Her name is Maggie May but she responds to: bean, bean bean, Miss May, momma, momma Mia, “my little girl”, and Mageta (Mag-gee-tah) -4 years old -Spayed and fully vaccinated -indoor cat only (has never been outside) -has not been around many animals outside of my partners pitbulls and they have not been nice to her (unsure if she will do well with other animals)
Will come with: -all of her favorite toys (a huge basket full) -enclosed litter box/litter catching mats -brand new cat tower (will purchase a new one for you and her new home) -cat litter/cat food -her kennel -all of her favorite blankets
