This is Rocket 🚀 . He is a 3 year old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky Mix Male dog. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is up to date on all of his shots. He is not neutered. He has spent his first 3 years of life so far with a loving family with little kids and used to being around and playing with cats with access to a large backyard to run around and play all the time. He has always been well tempered and responds to commands when he's not feeling his rebellious husky side haha. He doesn't run away. He sticks around unleashed just fine (this is untrained behavior and came natural to him). He loves to play and run around and roughhouse. Definitely high energy outside and follows you around in the house. He is crate/kennel trained and potty trained. Unfortunately an incident has occurred where we went on vacation with him being watched after and 2 nights after coming back he has developed some what we believe is human treat(food)/item he shouldn't be chewing guarding behavior. My 18 month old was sitting in front of him while he was laying down in a corner with a granola bar he aquired. Next thing we hear is a reactive bark and we see he had reactive bit our 18 month old, piercing her soft skin. She wound up with 4 punctures in her hand. We assume she reached for the granola bar or maybe she swatted at him. A few days later some whopper chocolate malt balls fell on the floor and he scurried to eat those and our 8 year old tried to pull his mouth away and pick up the toxic chocolate from his dog and he reactive snapped at his hand as well, only leaving top layer skin scraping. Outside of these incidents he has always been amazing and even tolerates the kids being naughty and jumping on him with no reaction. Never showed aggression. And still doesn't outside of those incidents. But we fear he is defensive over thinks he sneaks that he shouldn't be chewing. SO, since our littlest one doesn't know any better and with 4 little kiddos we can't run a home and keep an eye on everyone's movements 100% of the time, we can't take the risk of of another incident happening. So with broken hearts to all of us we need to rehome him to hopefully a loving home that can provide a fenced backyard with plany of space and plenty of activity and attention for him. We'd prefer a home with no small children as that's why we are rehoming him and older children and adults can know better. No apartments, no town homes. No exceptions there.
