VenmoSilverudds Blue is a beautiful Swedish breed that lay 200-250 gorgeous green eggs per year. My roosters and hens come from several different lines to ensure you hatch vital and healthy chicks. I currently have one blue rooster over black and blue hens, and a black rooster over blue and splash hens so you are likely to receive a variety of all color variations: black, blue, and splash with gorgeous, clean coloration. My hatch rates earlier this spring for this breed averaged about 85%.
They are $4 per hatching egg.
Please note, our breeding roosters are lab-tested as heterozygous for the blue egg gene. Depending on which hen's egg you hatch, there is an estimated 0% to 25% chance per egg (or roughly 8%–25% overall across a dozen) of hatching a brown egg layer, with the remainder laying green of all shades. All of our birds are purebred Silverudd's Blue. This is a known struggle with the breed that breeders like myself are still working on. Next spring we will have a homozygous rooster and will be able to guarantee only green egg layers.
