GooglePayPick up Salt Lake City Yalecrest Wonderful antique “Never Fail” cast-iron hand-crank corn sheller, manufactured by The Root-Heath Manufacturing Co. of Plymouth, Ohio. This is a genuine piece of early American farm equipment from roughly the late 1800s/early 1900s, designed to quickly strip dried kernels from ears of corn for feed and storage. Root-Heath was an Ohio manufacturer of agricultural and mechanical equipment, and its Never Fail shellers became practical fixtures on American farms. The machine would typically have been mounted to a wooden box or bin so the shelled corn could drop directly into the container below. Period users remember these machines being used specifically to shell corn for livestock and chickens. � Yesterday's Tractors This example retains its wonderfully aged cast-iron surface and clearly visible NEVER FAIL and Root-Heath Mfg. Co. markings. The large hand crank and shelling mechanism remain present, making it a terrific piece of primitive American agricultural history as well as an outstanding farmhouse, barn, restaurant or industrial display piece. Sold as found with its original aged patina. I have intentionally not restored or repainted it. It is fully functioning and can really rank out the volume. Simply mount it to a wooden box
