Meet Penelope—the little puppy who surprised everyone! 😂❤️

When Penny first came to Mountain Mama Pyrs & Pups, we were told she was a “Chihuahua puppy.” Well… Penny had other plans! As she grew, those amazing ears, beautiful spotted coat, and big personality made it pretty clear that our tiny Chihuahua was actually growing into a gorgeous Cattle Dog mix! 😍🐾

Now 6 months old and fully vetted, Penny is ready to find her forever family!

Penny is one of those dogs who doesn't need to be the center of attention—she just wants to be wherever YOU are. Whether she's lounging around the house, hanging out at your feet, playing with another dog, or snuggling with the family, she's perfectly content simply being included. 🥹❤️

True to that loyal Cattle Dog personality, Penny can sometimes get a little protective of her person if she thinks another dog is hurting them. She loves her people BIG and takes her job as your tiny bodyguard very seriously. 😂 This is something that can continue to be worked on with guidance and training.

And then there's the leash… 🤣 Penny has decided that walking on a leash is currently optional. She can walk on one—she just prefers to do it when SHE feels like it. 😂 With some patience, treats, and practice, we're confident this smart girl will figure out that walks can actually be pretty fun!

Penny may not have turned out to be the Chihuahua everyone expected, but she turned out to be something even better: a beautiful, funny, loyal little companion ready to devote her whole heart to her forever family. 🏡💗
