Meet Wilbur! A 3 year old pony cross gelding. He measures about 12.2hh And is the biggest sweetheart! Wilbur has had a fantastic start and will make someone the best family pony and/or future lesson pony.
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49WiQuKWvhs
Some of the things Wilbur has already done:
-Round pen and other ground work
-Trailered to new arenas (on his own and with other horses)
-Been ponied off other horses
-Been used to pony other horses
-Exposure to kids on the ground and under saddle
-Given lunge line lessons
-Used occasionally in group horse lessons
-Gone on road rides and a trail ride
-Ridden through puddles, water, creeks.
-Hosed off/bathed, good with fly spray and clippers
-Ridden on his own and with a group
-Good stop, walk and trot work.
-Currently working toward a stronger more consistent canter/lope.
-Basic turning, working on neck reining (goes in a plain snaffle)
-Lunged over small jumps
-Lived and does well with mares and geldings
-Great to catch in a small or big space. (Usually comes up to meet you and follows you around, unless he’s busy eating his breakfast/dinner, haha)
-Trims well. Goes barefoot
-Knows how to smile on cue :)
Wilbur has one of the best temperaments/demeanors I’ve seen in a young horse/pony. He will be the ultimate kids pony! However, he still young and needs time and consistency to reach his full potential. He isn’t at a stage where he can “teach” a kid how to ride, and although he isn’t spooky, he still encounters situations where he isn’t confident yet. As such, he will do best in a home where they can continue giving him positive experiences and keep up his training.
Located in Smithfield, Utah. Has a coggins and is up to date on vaccines and wormer. Recently trimmed. Call/text with any questions and/or if you’d like to set up a time to come meet him.
Asking $5000
*At no extra cost, I can include his english saddle, girth, saddle pad, bridle and winter blanket.
