If you don't have one already, create an account on KSL.com or the KSL Classifieds app. You’ll be asked for basic identifying information.

• Phone number

It’s important to include accurate information in your profile. This helps avoid confusion, misunderstandings or miscommunication with people who view your listings.

Add a picture

Filling in the personal information is just the first step in how to create a credible profile on KSL. Now, you can also add a profile picture. When you create a listing, your uploaded photo will appear along with your name. This lets people know they are dealing with an actual person, not a bot or a scammer.

We’ve partnered with Stripe to provide KSL Verified, another new feature to help keep our community safer. On your Account Details page, you’ll now see a button for Stripe Verification. When you tap the button, you’ll be asked to upload an image of your driver’s license and a selfie. 

Once your profile verification is complete, you will instantly improve your KSL profile trust with a green check mark. This Verified badge will appear on all your listings, giving buyers the assurance that you are a real person.

Update your information

Be sure your account details are updated; your correct information will help buyers find you. In addition to a profile picture and Verified badge on your listings, KSL Classifieds includes the city listed on your account page. But if you say you live in Ogden when you really live in Provo, it can be frustrating for the other party. If they’re looking for an item within a certain mile range, you’ll be wasting each other’s time.

Feeling safer

A complete and verified profile can also help buyers feel more comfortable doing business with you. When you have the Verified badge on your listing, buyers will know you have a trustworthy KSL profile. As a result, they can feel confident that they are dealing with an actual human. 

And if potential buyers know that you’re real, they are more likely to reach out to learn more about your item for sale. Rest assured, all your private information will still remain confidential.

Build trust by responding to Messages in a timely manner.

Respond quickly

Once you have someone interested in your listing, be sure to communicate quickly and accurately with them. When someone reaches out with Messages, our secure messaging platform, you’ll see automatically generated responses. Feel free to choose from one to help you get started.

It pays to respond quickly because you’re answering questions when the person is most interested in your item. When you do respond, carefully read over your responses before sending them. A message with multiple grammatical and spelling errors can look suspicious.
