How to add video to your KSL Classifieds listing to sell faster

Adding a video to your listing is easy. When you add a new listing or update an existing one, you can record a video using the KSL Classifieds app. If you already have one, simply upload it from your device.

Download the app

If you’re using a desktop, you can upload an existing video. Click on “Add Video” when you create or edit a listing. It will automatically appear as the first image. Potential buyers can click or tap on the embedded play button to start the video.

You may upload one video per listing. It can be between 5 and 60 seconds, giving you plenty of time to reveal your items’ finest features.

What to include in your KSL video to attract buyers

Use the video on your KSL listing to explain or show the perks of your item. Let your car’s engine rev. Bounce (OK, maybe push gently) on your cushiest couch cushions. Show how well you can float your boat.

Try the new video feature

A video lets you show off how well your item works. Include music, a voiceover or even the sounds of your item in action.

Demonstrate the condition of your item

Potential buyers will be more interested when they can get a complete picture, especially if it’s an item they’ll use for a specific function. Demonstrate how well your power drill runs, how easily your barbecue grill fires up, or how you can quickly hook up a trailer to your SUV.

Be honest! If there are scuffs, dents or other flaws, don’t try to hide them. Buyers who know what they’re getting ahead of time are more likely to finalize the purchase. If it’s not what they were expecting, you’ll likely lose the sale.

In a video, you can talk about all the extra features that pictures can't capture.

Show off the details to entice buyers

Talk about the features of your item that aren’t necessarily visible in a static image. Include multiple angles, zooming in on details that make your item special and/or unique, or just plain practical.

Be sure the lighting is sufficient. A dingy, grainy picture won’t instill buyer confidence like sharp, clear imagery will.

Add music to make the video more interesting

You can add narration or music, whatever you think will help people get to know your item better. Keep it clean, of course. Your video will be rejected if it contains anything that violates KSL.com rules.

Add a video up to 60 seconds long, although we recommend keeping it closer to 30.

Keep the video concise so viewers stay engaged

Of course you could go on for hours about how many miles you’ve put in with your treadmill, but this isn’t the time. You can make your video up to 60 seconds long, but you’re more likely to keep your viewer’s attention if you stick closer to 20-30 seconds.

Can I still upload photos to my listing?

Along with a video, you can still include as many photos of your item as you’d like. Upload them by clicking or tapping “Add Photos,” then arrange them in whatever order you prefer. However, the video will always appear first among your images to grab your viewer’s attention.
