************************ A Note from the Breeder: Fancy Rats are not like other small animals (hamsters, gerbils, etc)! Their needs, care, & the way they are as pets is completely unique to THEM! Rats are extremely Social, Intelligent, affectionate, curious, & playful. They need largeventilatedED cages (such aCritter Nationon) with covered walking areas (cage si:e- a minimum of 2.5 sq ft per).at.) Their bedding & diet requirements are also unique to them. So yes, they do require their own unique husbandry, diet, environment, care, & enrichment. (I.e.- Hammocks, hides, ledges, chews, climbs, dig boxes, nesting material, enrichment toys, etc). This CAN get expensive. So please do not assume the lower purchase price- means low cost care maintenancenace. Rats also need daily interaction, and time out of their cages & enrichment, some free roaming (designated/ designed areas), socialization, & handling.

Fancy rats live in GROUPS called "Mischief's". Yes, Rats are pack animals! So they should live in bonded groups of 3 or more. Rats who are housed alone or even in pairs can become depressed, stressed, have added health issues, & shorter lifespans!

Please do your homework & educate yourself on pet rat care, cage requirements, food, & other needs when considering & purchasing fancy rats as pets!

Fancy Rats really make excellent pets!! Especially when bred, cared for, & loved properly!! They are even often nicknamed- "Pocket Puppies"! With Being social, intelligent, & affectionate animals- fancy rats make fun interactive pets that bond well w/ their owners. They can be excellent ESA pets, & can even be trained!! (Ask me for more details) However, these pets are best for MATURE OWNERS. They are not really meant for younger children. If you are wanting to purchase any for your children- please do so w/ the attitude that these will be YOUR (the adult/parents) pets & responsibility. They are "exotic" animals, & as "FAMILY" Pets they should always be handled by younger children w/ adult supervision.

**Just Added from breeder- Please Don't be intimidated by the number "3 or more". Fancy rats are very social and need to live in groups. the work on your part as an owner is no more with three then it is with two. And you will have happier, healthier rats
