Extremely RARE, Vintage 1991 Star Trek / US Post Office Promotional Items
ITEM #1-Star Trek Stamp Collecting is Logical Mister Spock Post Office Display Standee. Measures roughly 11 1/2 x 14, and stood on US Post Office Counters. This was part of a Cross Promotional Campaign for the Space Exploration Stamps also released that year. Patrons had to buy the book of Space Exploration Stamps and Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country. Then with proofs of purchase from both items, and $3.99 Patrons could receive a special Crew Sticker/stamp Set.
ITEM #2-Journey to a Final Frontier.....Collect Stamps Poster. Vintage 1991 Star Trek stamp collecting poster. Made by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Star Trek (and to encourage Star Trek fans to begin collecting postage stamps). This 36" X 21" poster pictures the Enterprise and Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) as both appeared in the 1991 Star Trek film Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Also pictured are ten "Space Exploration" stamps issued by the USPS. Poster is designed to be displayed behind/over the counter at post offices around the country - it was not sold to the general public, so only a limited number were printed, and most were destroyed at the end of 1991 when the USPS advertising campaign ended. Poster is in near mint/mint condition with no rips, tears, thumbtack holes, or other damage. Poster is folded into four panels, exactly as it was sent to post offices from the USPS. A great addition to any collection of vintage Star Trek items or stamp collecting memorabilia.
