Military Modular Sleeping Bag System is constructed to insulate the soldier in environments ranging from mild weather to extremely cold weather. The Military Modular Sleeping Bag consists of two Mummy-style sleeping bags - the Patrol (Foliage) and the Intermediate Cold Weather (Foliage). Each are constructed of water - resistant, ripstop nylon. Each Military Sleeping Bag is fully functional independently. Each bag is compatible with the vapor permeable bivy cover. A compression stuff sack is included and detailed below. Non-flammable and machine washable. The GORTEX outside shell is Army Digital Camouflage. The Patrol Bag is designed for use in temperate climates ranging from 30 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Intermediate bag is designed for use in cold climates ranging from -10 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

When combined, along with the Bivy Cover as outermost layer, the system is designed for climates to minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit when the user is wearing the lightweight undershirt and drawers or mid‐ weight shirt and drawers and standard cushion sole socks, to minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit when the user is also wearing fleece jacket and soft shell or loft trousers, and to minus 50 degrees Fahrenheit when the user is also wearing additional layers
