Full Size (4/4) violin built in the style and geometry of Stradivari's "The Kruse" c. 1721 (the culmination of Stradivari's Golden Period.) it was made by one luthier from beginning to end from solid tone wood aged and air dried 12+ years. This violin is a Premium Intermediate violin and would be a great transition (and a big step up) for someone playing a standard or even high end student violin. This violin could easily be played through high school. Price is firm. I can only take cash.
The top is extraordinary, fine grained spruce; the back is a truly beautiful--two piece Maple with well defined narrow striation that continues through the ribs. It is finished with Italian Red oil varnish that gives the grain of the wood a satin luster and allows the instrument to breathe. The fittings are genuine ebony with inlays on the pegs and tailpiece. The tailpiece is set up standard with a Wittner Stable Style Fine Tuner on the E string. It is fitted with a French Aubert Bridge. It is in "like new" condition. It has been stored in a humidified case.
It has been fitted with new Dominant strings (G through A) and a Pirastro Gold Series "Wondertone" E string. The bridge and sound post have been recently adjusted by a local luthier that I trust.
It is ready to play. I am offering it with a student style case, rosin, a set of back-up strings, and a nice quality Brazilwood bow.
You are welcome to come by and play it. I would recommend bringing a bow and music that you are familiar with. I have other instruments that you would be welcome to play as well.
