The Rawlings (Schutt) Hollywood Impact Kwik-Release double first base set features a safety design where the top of the base (white) disengages from the bottom base plate (orange) upon a strong impact, greatly reducing the risk of player injury. These varsity level breakaway style bases require 26lbs of force to dislodge the top base from the base plate. This varsity base set includes a Kwik-Release double first base and two Kwik-Release bases, all built with a heavy-duty rubber construction that is built to last. For added safety, the double 1st base design includes a regulation-size white base for fielders and a bright orange regulation-size outside base for baserunners to reduce player collisions. The Kwik-Release safety feature configuration is comprised of interconnecting tabs that connect the top of the base to the bottom platform. The tabs are soft enough for players to slide over when the top base disengages. The double first base has the interconnecting tabs on the white base only. These Kwik-Release bases have a higher resistance to disengage the base than the varsity model (sold separately). The bottom platforms of the bases are equipped with a 6" stanchion for mounting into a ground anchor (sold separately). The double first base has the 6" stanchion attached to the bottom platform that interconnects with the white base only.
