I believe this to be a Standard Bore Block. It’s been in the corner of the garage so long I no longer remember where it came from or what it might have come out of. According to the Suffix Code ( F55F ) this is a 1955 / 265 CID 2BBL Powerglide Transmission Passenger Car Block with 162 Horse Power. It is curious that the addition of a “ G “ to the suffix code would make this block a 1955 / 265 CID “ 4 “ BBL Powerglide Transmission CORVETTE Block with 195 Horse Power. Did you know that they only built 700 Corvette’s in 1955? Most Curious.
