This guitar is amazing. It was made in Japan, which was Jackson's best eras for guitar quality after Grover Jackson no longer was involved. I bought it from the original owner, who experienced a couple of accidental damages to it, which include breaking a piece of the headstock and having it professionally repaired and chipping off a small piece of paint at the end of one of the horns. I've included a photo of each flaw.
I've put about $1,200 into modifications. I took it to Murphy's Guitars in Bountiful to do all the work after being told by Guitar Czar that the luthier there was the best in Utah. I swapped out the licensed Jackson Floyd Rose tremolo with Gotoh 1996t, installed a sustainiac driver with a battery box (this is what Joe Satriani and Steve Vai use to get that never-ending sustain with different harmonics), and a dimebucker in the bridge. I had them examine the repair to the headstock, which they said was just fine and not a concern.
If you're looking for the ultimate guitar that absolutely screams, it's this thing. I nick-named the guitar "The Shredder" -- not just because of how it sounds, but also because of how it looks (think of The Shredder from the 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film).
No trades.
