Venmo1981 Honda CB900F in great driver condition for the age and mileage. Would be perfect for a restoration project or just ride as is.
I've owned it for about 3 years and put about 3500 miles total on it mainly commuting to Salt Lake. It was non-running when I bought it and so far I've: -Rebuilt and rejetted the carbs -Adjusted the valves -Rebuild the front forks and added Progressive Springs -Replaced the stator and rectifier -Replaced the tires -Upgraded the headlight with an H4 bulb and relay kit -All Balls tapered steering stem bearings -Delkelvik 4into1 exhaust -Rebuilt all brake calipers, replaced front master cylinder, installed new stainless brake lines, and replaced the pads -New clutch and springs -New drive chain -Oil change -Brand new battery as of 7/10
Things it could still need: -Paint -Speedometer cable seems to be sticky and occasionally sticks for the first 100-200ft of riding, but speedometer works fine after that -3rd gear slips at more than 1/4 throttle. A previous owner put either the European Cb900 or Cb1100 footpegs and pedals on it (I havent been able to fully determine which) and when I originally got the bike running I had to modify the shifter linkage in order for it to work properly. I could see this still being part of the issue the issue, but I've been told this could also be due to a weak spring behind the clutch or a worn out arm in the transmission, but I've never fully investigated. I typically just skip this gear if I'm accelerating into traffic, but it typically works fine under light acceleration/cruising/engine braking
Great bike that has been a fun project and an absolute blast to ride. Hate to sell it but I only rode a handful of times last summer so I'd like the space and funds to move onto other projects. Started regularly to ensure carbs dont clog up and battery doesnt die. Extra parts and all receipts proving work done are included. Test rides with motorcycle endorsement only. Clean title in hand, motivated seller asking $2000 based on KBB value
