This McCoy "Have a Happy Day" Cookie Jar and Mug set was produced in 1971. This varriation has the popular black for the eyes, mouth and wording. Each piece has the preferred 1940-45 mark with "USA" below it. My mother purchased this set in 1971 and it sat on top of the china cabinet for years. No one was allowed to touch it and there were never any cookies in it. It was for decor only. When the dining room was remodeled it was put away in a cupboard and forgotten. We recently found it again. It's in excellent condition,,,no chips, or cracks. There is a small factory flaw next to the mouth line where the yellow glaze didn't cover completely. It doesn't look or feel like a chip. It has always been that way. Kept in a smoke free home. I have no place to put it and have decided to sell it to someone who will love having this retro blast-from-the-past. Shipping available at buyer's expense.
